This has been a big few weeks for Real Housewives-related scandals, with Jen Shah of Salt Lake City getting arrested for her alleged role in a massive telemarketing scam. Amidst all of this, though, the legal woes still continue for Beverly Hills star Erika Girardi, aka Erika Jayne, who is allegedly clinging lavish gifts given to her by her husband and refusing to hand them over to bankruptcy trustees.
Erika Jayne’s estranged husband Tom Girardi, who lost his law license earlier this year, is accused of misappropriating millions of dollars in funds intended for the families of plane crash victims. Per court documents obtained recently by Radar Online, the trustee presiding over his bankruptcy proeedings is obtaing special counsel to sue Erika Jayne, on the basis that she is holding on to relevant assets that could be recovered.
Per Radar’s reports, Erika Jayne has allegedly told the trustee that she does not have any community property – property acquired by a couple during marriage – in her possession, other than certain household items. Radar claims that Girardi gifted his wife with various expensive items of clothing and jewelry throughout their marriage, and that she’s now holding on these and claiming that the bankruptcy court has no right to any gifts he gave her.
Erika prides herself on her pricey glam squad and her expensive lifestyle – to the point where her most famous bop is literally called XXPEN$IVE – so she’s definitely not giving up her fancy gear without a fight. The first-look trailer for the new season of The Real Housewives Of Beverly Hills landed earlier this week, and it seems like the show is going to lean right into this mess, so strap in, because it’s going to be very interesting.
the terms. This means that there is credible information that Erika Jayne has received $$ from Tom Girardi and may have transferred it to others. She is refusing to give it back.
