Taron Egerton is currently having the time of his life on the Rocketman press tour. If you’ve watched any of his interviews (also our one hehe) you’ll know that Egerton and the real life Sir Elton John have become very good mates.

Appearing on Jimmy Kimmel Live! the other night, Egerton shared some precious details about his and John’s relationship because it is simply the best thing going around right now. Turns out, John has big Proud Dad energy and while Egerton prefers to avoid the ~reviews~, John simply does not.
“I try and avoid reviews, but Elton sends me them every day,” Egerton revealed. “Every day! He’s sort of vetting my reviews, I’m sure there are bad ones that he’s not sending, but yeah.”
“He emails them,” he added. “It’s the same title every time: ‘And another one.’”
Well isn’t that just bloody wholesome?
An ever curious Kimmel tried to suss John’s email address, to see if it had any cheeky digits in it or whatnot, but Egerton replied that it was quite “pedestrian” actually – the word, not us – definitely not us.
Rocketman is in cinemas right now.
As for those ~reviews~, Rocketman is currently sitting on a 90 per cent fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes based off of 123 critic reviews. The blue ticks are frothing on Egerton’s performance with The Hollywood Reporter – to name one – writing:
The fact that Egerton does his own singing with such confidence adds a whole other layer to the characterisation, appropriating the style of John without ever veering into impersonation.
