Drag Race’s Coco Jumbo Just Realised Her Hanzi Neck Tattoo Definitely Doesn’t Say ‘Aquarius’

Nobody, no matter who you are, is immune to the foibles of getting a tattoo that doesn’t mean what you think it does. This week, that person is Sydney drag queen and RuPaul’s Drag Race Down Under star, Coco Jumbo. Hoo boy, it’s a doozy.

Sharp eyes noticed in the first ep of DRDU that Coco has a tattoo behind her ear of a couple of Hanzi symbols, which is already asking for trouble unless she had them checked by someone who reads Chinese symbols on the reg.

Those same sharp eyes did some casual fact-checking on what that tattoo actually translates to, and it turns out she’s gone and got the symbols for “water bottle” permanently inked on her.

Oh babe, oh babe no.

Coco tweeted about it, claiming that she thought it translated to ‘Aquarius’. Someone’s done her so dirty here, and I’m absolutely howling. How can you not check? How do you go “yep, that’s it” without verifying the meaning, or even putting it through Google Translate? I know it’s not the best but at least it’s something.

People are losing their shit about this very permanent mistake, and likening it to that time Ariana Grande got a Japanese Kanji tattoo that acutally said “small barbeque grill” on her palm (and then tried to fix it but made it worse).

Luckily for Coco, many fans have come through in the replies to let her know that her fuckup is fixable – all she has to do is get back in the chair and add more to the neck tattie.

Oof, lucky save here Coco Jumbo. Maybe go and get that fixed up babes.

New episodes of RuPaul’s Drag Race Down Under hits Stan every Saturday at 4pm AEST, and you can catch up on everything you’ve missed there, too.
