CONFIRMED: Woody Harrelson Has 100% Signed On To Be In The Han Solo Movie

Yay, it’s confirmed!
Rumours were swirling last week about Woody Harrelson reportedly joining the cast of the upcoming ‘Star Wars‘ spin-off film, the Han Solo movie.
And now it’s been confirmed – Woody‘s definitely gonna be in the ‘Star Wars‘ film about the handsome smuggler.
Directors of the currently-untitled Han Solo standalone film, Phil Lord and Christopher Miller, said this of the 55-year-old actor joining the cast:
“We couldn’t be more excited to work with an artist with as much depth and range as Woody.

His ability to find both humour and pathos, often in the same role, is truly unique. He is also very good at ping pong.”
Rumours are that Harrelson will be playing a ‘mentor’ of Solo‘s, and ‘Star Wars’ fans are speculating that it might be one of these characters that were mentioned in a very early draft of ‘The Empire Strikes Back‘:

In text format:
“[Han Solo] left, flunked out of the Space Academy, and then met some kind of Ernest Hemingway character, a powerful trader in the galaxy who took Han under his wing until they had a falling out. Han swore he’d never talk to him again.

When the story begins, the Rebel Alliance needs this man, this powerful trader, on its side; by now he controls all non-military transports in the galaxy and is the head of some kind of transport guild. Leia tells Han they’ve made some kind of contact with him and that he’ll only talk to him.

Another plot line suggests that only Han knows where this man is hiding, and that the Rebellion wants Han to contact him. In either case the future of the Rebellion is in Han’s hands.

At first Han refuses to go, but eventually he agrees to take on the mission, although it is aborted when the Empire attacks the Rebel base.

This concept appeared only in the first draft.”
So, even though this ‘Ernest Hemingway character’ never made it into ‘The Empire Strikes Back‘, it turns out he might just get a run on the big screen anyway.
Hey, Han had to learn how to be a smuggling, stuck up, half-witted, scruffy-looking Nerf-herder somewhere, we suppose!
p.s. How legitimately hilarious would it be if Yoda had actually been called ‘Minch’. MINCH.
