Channing Tatum Will Star In An Animated Series, And It Sounds Totally Nutso

Bless the sweet angel known as Channing Tatum. And bless ever more his continually surprising comedic timing and nous.

The actor, at one time virtually destined to be the prototypical modern Hollywood hunk, has casually revealed himself as a serious talent with a bloody good head for laughs, in what’s easily one of the more pleasantly awesome career evolutions you’re ever likely to see.
And it would appear that knowhow is about to get literally cartoonish.
Comedy Central has announced its slate of new productions for 2016-17, and among them is an animated series called ‘Germany‘.
Tatum is set to executive produce and star in the project, which has a pilot order from the cable TV giant.
The plot? It sounds magnificently crazy.

Germany (pilot presentation) – an animated series about a community of germs living in a Petri dish at the University of Berlin. Executive produced by and starring Channing Tatum, Germany explores the trials and tribulations of diverse microorganisms living in a microcosm of our world – complete with political scandals, climate change and vaccination deniers. Germany is a unique world in which both the laughter and the characters are contagious. The show was created by Aaron Karo and is also executive produced by Reid Carolin and Peter Kiernan.”

The concept was created by stand-up comedian and author Aaron Karo, with frequent Tatum-business partner Reid Carolin among the producing team.

The show only has a pilot order at the moment, so there’s no guarantee that it’ll make it to series.
But with Channing Fkn Tatum attached and a concept that freaking wild? Come on. That’s a home run.
