Per reports in Entertainment Weekly, the third book will see Joe – the character played by Penn Badgely in the hit LifetimeNetflix series – relocating to the Pacific Northwest with “a plan to become a family man in his own unique way.” Yikes.

The first novel introduced the world to Joe, an obsessive and intense New York City bookstore employee, who stalked the object of his affection, an aspiring writer named Beck, and harmed or killed anyone who got in his way.

The TV adaptation was picked up by Netflix in 2018, and it became a massive hit, with the streaming service boasting of nearly 40 million views. It has since been picked up for a second season and is now branded as a Netflix Original.

Caroline Kepnes published a sequel to You in 2016. Entitled Hidden Bodies, the book will form the basis for the second season of the TV show. Per the official plot synopsis:

Joe Goldberg came to Los Angeles to start over, to forget about what happened in New York. But in a darkened room in Soho House everything suddenly changed. She is like no one he’s ever met before. She doesn’t know about his past and never can. The problem is, hidden bodies don’t always stay that way.
