Caitlyn Jenner To Write A Memoir With ‘Friday Night Lights’ Author

Given that Caitlyn Jenner‘s interview with Diane Sawyer, in which she announced her transition to the world, drew a fuck-off massive 17 million viewers in the U.S., a book deal seemed more than likely.

Overnight, it was announced that Jenner will indeed be extending her brand in a new direction, and putting the story of her transformation to paper, with the help of journalist Buzz Bissinger.

Bissinger, a Pulitzer Prize winner, wrote the 1990 non-fiction book Friday Night Lights, which subsequently inspired a film and a TV series. He was also behind the recent Vanity Fair profile of Jenner.

Per the NY Times:

The book will cover Ms. Jenner’s childhood as Bruce Jenner and rise to fame as a gold- medal-winning Olympic decathlete; her first two marriages and her troubled relationship with her children; her marriage to Kris Kardashian, the matriarch of the Kardashian brood; her transition and her experience as the world’s most famous transgender woman.

Bissinger says he plans to interview dozens of other people for the book, to maintain integrity and “keep her honest”; in a statement, Jenner said she looks forward to having some “proper time to reflect” on her journey.

The book is tentatively scheduled for a 2017 release.
