Dearest Readers, Netflix Hath Confirmed That Season 2 Of Bridgerton Is Cumming

bridgerton season 2

Hear ye! Hear ye! Get ready for another season of Ye Olde Gossip Girl because Bridgerton has officially been renewed for a second season on Netflix.

The incredibly popular show, developed by Chris Van Dusen and produced by Shonda Rhimes, only debuted on Christmas Day (aka not that bloody long ago) and it’s already clocked over 63 million household views.

The first season of the hit series was based on Julia Quinn’s novel The Duke And I, with the following seasons (hopefully eight in total) to follow the rest of the novel series.

In addition to being produce by the queen herself, Shonda Rhimes, the show also features Julie Andrews as the voice of Whistledown, as well as Johnathan Bailey and Phoebe Dynevor in the all-star cast.

Keeping incredibly on-brand for the period drama, the announcement was made via a letter by Lady Whistledown herself.

“The ton are abuzz with the latest gossip, and so it is my honour to impart to you: Bridgerton shall officially return for a second season. I do hope you have stored a bottle of ratafia for this delightful occasion,” the letter reads.

“The incomparable cast of Bridgerton will return to production in the Spring of 2021. This author has been reliably informed that Lord Anthony Bridgerton intends to dominate the social season. I will have my pen ready to report on any and all of his romantic activities.”

“However, gentle reader, before you set the comments section alight with requests for more sordid details, know that I am disinclined to report on the particulars at this time. Patience, after all, is a virtue.”

Much like the second novel, The Viscount Who Loved Me, season two will follow the story of Anthony Bridgerton and his steamy love affairs.

There’s no official release date for the highly-anticipated second season just yet, but Netflix has blessed us with a sneaky little trailer to get you all riled up for season two.
