BLOODY HELL: Anne Rice Is Fangin’ Us An ‘Interview W/ A Vampire’ TV Series

We vish to alert you to ze news that Anne Rice is verking to bring you a TV adaptation of her bloodsucking classic ‘Interview Wiv The Vampire’.

The 73-year-old author announced via Facebook that she’s finally re-obtained the theatrical rights to her Vampire Chronicles’ series (she sold them to Universal Studios in 2014, with hopes of developing more movies from them, but it didn’t work out) and is prepping a Game of Thrones-style” TV series based on Lestat, Louis and the rest of the gang.

“Over the years you all have told me how much you want to see a ‘Game of Thrones‘ style faithful rendering of this material, and how much you want for the series to remain in my control,” she wrote. “Well, I have heard you. I have always heard you.”

“A television series of the highest quality is now my dream for Lestat, Louis, Armand, Marius and the entire tribe. In this the new Golden Age of television, such a series is THE way to let the entire story of the vampires unfold.”
Rice is working with son Christopher on the pilot script and an outline for an “open-ended series” taking its inspo from ‘The Vampire Lestat’, the series’ second book that’s actually a prequel to the first.
You know what that means: a whole lot more of the Brat Prince.
Here’s Rice’s message in full:
Christopher has even created a dedicated Facebook page through which fans can share their hopes and dreams when it comes to casting and story arcs.

“We view every constructive communication from a fan of the Chronicles to be an invaluable part of any process that will result in a gratifying adaptation, and as such, every constructive comment posted here will not only be read, but also logged and recorded for future reference,” he posted in the group.

Because it’s going to be a very tall order to top Tom Cruise and Brad Pitt, stars of the 1994 classic, fans are taking this opportunity *very* seriously.
Names already being thrown around for the role of Lestat:
Matt Bomer (!!!!), who played Lady Gaga‘s lover in ‘American Horror Story: Hotel’
Alexander Skarsgård
Ezra Miller
Sam Heughan, current star of ‘Outlander’
With ‘True Blood’ gone, and ‘The Vampire Diaries’ airing its final season in 2017 (sob), there’s definitely space in our lives for the misadventures of more blood-thirsty individuals.
HOOK THIS TO OUR VEINS ASAP.
