Azerbaijan duo Ell/Nikki have taken out Eurovision 2011 with their song ‘Running Scared’, dashing the hopes of Jedward fans the world over.
The epicentre of kitsch held their finals in Dussledorf last night, with a host of -ahem- interesting entries including Ding Dong, an Israeli transexual, hilarious Irish twins Jedward and a reformed UK ’00s pop act, Blue. You can just feel comedian Graham Norton‘s excitement as he announces the winner:
Eurovision will be screened in Australia tonight on SBS, hosted by the fantastic Julia Zemiro, so don’t let us ruin your fun. But if you’re placing bets with people who dont read the Internet on Sundays, it’s phonetically pronounced ‘Ah-zer-buy-jan’ and we’ve attached the official video of their winning song for your convenience:
