Per the Dukes of Download at Torrentfreak, the amoral citizens of Convict Island accounted for a whopping 16.1% of early downloads (that would be sometime around mid-afternoon, bosses of Australia) of the premiere episode of the second part of Breaking Bad’s fifth season last night, “Blood Money”.
Australian Breaking Bad fans with questionable attitudes toward copyright law beat out the United States (16.0%), Canada (9.6%) and The UK (8.5%) and accounted for five of the top ten download markets in the world with Melbourne responsible for 4.8% of total early downloads, the most of any city in the world, Sydney for 2.9% (3rd), Perth for 1.9% (4th), and Brisbane and Adelaide for 1.2% each placing them at 8th and 10th respectively, once again cementing our place as the Bermuda Triangle of digital piracy.

Also worth noting: the concerted efforts of Australian pay TV network Foxtel to curb piracy rates with a fast tracked screening at 6:30pm, just hours after the episode aired in America, seemed to have little effect on the quantity of Australian downloads. You know what to do, Foxtel.
