Aubrey Plaza, Queen Of Your Heart, Comes Out As Queer

Either you’re already a little bit in love with Aubrey Plaza, or you’re wrong. Quite frankly there is only one possible way to function in a world in which you know Aubrey to exist, and that is to be mildly-to-wildly infatuated. That’s it.

Anyway, extreme frothing on Aubrey aside, the actress and long-time fave of the queer community has just come out as queer herself. Well… perhaps ‘come out’ is the wrong word. It doesn’t appear to have been a secret, and this is the ~ big reveal~, more than Aubrey confirmed herself as queer in a recent interview with LGBT publication The Advocate

She recently played a lesbian Krav Maga instructor with a huge crush on Natasha Lyonne‘s character in the film Addicted to Fresno. When asked about playing a lesbian, she answered:

“It was less about pretending to be lesbian and more about portraying a human being with a massive crush on Natasha Lyonne‘s character. Natasha’s a friend, and she called me up, like, “Do you want to come do a movie and make out with me?” I have a major crush on her in real life, so it was fun.”

And then, when asked if women ever come on to her, she said:

“Oh, yeah. I don’t mind. I know I have an androgynous thing going on, and there’s something masculine about my energy. Girls are into me – that’s no secret. Hey, I’m into them too. I fall in love with girls and guys. I can’t help it.”

Pls never change.

Also fun fact – remember April Ludgate‘s (Aubrey’s Parks and Recreation character) gay boyfriend Derek from the first couple seasons?

He’s Aubrey’s gay best friend IRL. She was just in his wedding. It was her idea to give April an openly gay boyfriend in the first place.

Bless :’)
