Ariana Grande’s M8s Say The Breakup Was “Not Shocking” News & No Fkn Shit

Were you absolutely, positively, completely SHOCKED by the news that Ariana Grande and Pete Davidson had reportedly called off their engagement?

No? Well you’re not alone, apparently her pals saw it coming a mile off as well.

A source close to the pint-sized pop star told People that they knew the pair’s whirlwind romance would be short-lived.

“It was way too much too soon,” the insider says of the split. “It’s not shocking to anyone.”

Other sneaky sources told TMZ that the celebrity duo broke up over the weekend, admitting that neither party is ready for the relationship to escalate.

Given everything that Grande has been through over the past year what with the attack at her Manchester concert and the tragic passing of her ex Mac Miller, not to mention the ongoing public scrutiny that led Davidson to hide away from social media, it isn’t at all surprising that the budding couple need some time to themselves.

Hours before reports of the split went viral around the world, the singer was reportedly a no-show at a charity gala with her longtime manager telling the audience her absence was “because of things that she’s going through”, obvs referring to the yet-to-be-announced split.

Scooter Braun told the inaugural Barbara Berlanti Heroes Gala on Saturday night that Grande, who was slated to perform a number from Wicked alongside Kristen Chenoweth, was a no-show due to some significant personal issues.

While Braun did not delve into the specifics, he told the Los Angeles audience that “someone I’m very close to was supposed to come sing for you today, and because of things that she’s going through, she couldn’t be here today.

“And while I was frustrated, being a manager, my wife, being who she always is, said to me, ‘She needs this time.’”
