Andy Samberg

WHOLESOME CONTENT ALERT: total legend Andy Samberg recently hopped on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon to chat about his Golden Globes co-hosting success. Naturally, this led to a conversation about the Brooklyn Nine-Nine star’s co-host Sandra Oh.

Oh, star of Killing Eve, became the first person of Asian descent to host the awards ceremony. Not to mention, her Golden Globes win for lead actress in a drama television series (Killing Eve) made her the first to do so in almost 40 years.

No big deal.

Oh used her Golden Globes opening monologue to talk about the importance of representation in the film and television industry.

…and to drop some quality roasts.

“Sandra Oh is the best person on earth,” Samberg told Fallon. “I met her like three days ago… and it’s true.”

Classic.

As Samberg explained in the interview, the two stars met briefly at the 2018 Emmys when they presented an award together.

“We liked each other so much from that one experience, we decided to go for it [presenting the Golden Globes] because they asked.”

Wait for it…

“She’s so warm and magnetic, I fell so into her energy. We were all backstage when she won and I was like – they were like ‘Sandra Oh’ – and I was like ‘YEAAAAAAAAAHHHH’, I started crying and was like ‘she’s been working on this for the last four days I’ve known her. I gave her boyfriend a big hug like, ‘WE DID IT’”.

BIG, BIG AW.

In other fabulous news, Samberg’s show Brooklyn Nine-Nine is premiering real soon. The highly anticipated season six will premiere in Australia on Friday, 11 January at 8:30pm on SBS Viceland and SBS On Demand.

NOINE-NOINE.

P.S Does this still make me cry? Yes, yes it does.
