According to advertising/marketing rag AdNews, The Commonwealth Bank of Australia have enlisted French filmmaker Jean-Pierre Jeunet (Amelie, A Very Long Engagement, Micmacs) to direct their latest television commercial.
AdNews says the TVC will air Sunday and is shot in “the style of Jeunet’s Amelie” which roughly translates to quirky, visually inventive, nostalgic and charming right? All qualities that seem to create memorable advertising and though we hate to see filmmakers rip off their own style, we’re assuming it’ll be better than the “American agency” campaign currently running.
