The time to book in a cleansing enema and call Chopard to borrow fine jewels is quickly creeping up on us: Award Season, the greatest of all the seasons, is just around the corner! The nominees for the 85th Academy Awards will be announced on 10 January 2013, and the Golden Globe nods will follow on January 13th, but first the finest efforts from our local entertainment heroes will be acknowledged when the second annual AACTA Awards nominations are revealed on Monday 3 December.
The AACTA (Australian Academy of Cinema and Television Arts) Awards is the first locally-streamlined ceremony that celebrates the achievements of the outstanding efforts of Australians within both film and television across just about every discipline you can think of: animation, score composing, acting, directing, cinematography, editing, writing, and more.
We are predicting that Wayne Blair’s joyous Cannes favourite The Sapphires will fare very strongly in the Feature Film category.
