A Second Man Will Plead Guilty Over The 2014 Celebrity Nude Photo Hack

A second man implicated in the 2014 hacking scandal that saw private, nude photos of various celebrities leaked onto the internet has indicated that he will plead guilty to charges relating to the incident.
Per reports in Deadline, 28-year-old Chicago man Edward Majerczyk gained access to more than 300 Gmail and iCloud accounts via an email phishing scam, by which he convinced victims to surrender their usernames and passwords.
He was able to gain access to the private data of celebrities including Jennifer Lawrence, Kirsten Dunst and Kate Upton, and their naked pictures subsequently began appearing on forums like Reddit and 4Chan.
A few weeks ago, another man, Ryan Collins, pleaded guilty to similar charges, although at this stage, it appears that the two were working separately.
Authorities are reportedly unable to tie either man to the spread of the photos, but illegally accessing data is, in and of itself, a federal fraud offence in the United States.
