30 Rock’s Tracy Morgan Critical Following Multi-Car Accident

Tracy Morgan, star of 30 Rock and Saturday Night Live, is in critical condition following a multi-vehicle car accident on the New Jersey Turnpike.

Police say that the accident happened at around 1:00am New York time, when the limo bus Morgan was traveling in was struck from behind and flipped. There were seven passengers in the vehicle, at least one of whom was killed.

Two tractor trailers, an SUV and two passenger vehicles were also involved in the accident. It is believed that one of the trailers struck Morgan’s limo, causing it to flip. Morgan was flown to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick, where he remains in intensive care.

Morgan was a cast member on SNL from 1996 to 2003, but is best known for playing belligerent man-child Tracy Jordan on Tina Fey‘s 30 Rock.

UPDATE: Comedian Ardie Fuqua, who was traveling with Morgan, sent out the following Facebook update before the accident:

“This is what it looks like from the stage to see a standing ovation from 1500 people. Then we traveled back to NYC in style in a luxury Mercedes Sprinter. Road life is a good life!”
