Fierce badass Michelle Yeoh is reportedly in talks for her own Star Trek spin-off focusing on her Discovery character, Philippa Georgiou.

If you caught the first season on CBS All Access, available locally on Netflix, you’ll remember Yeoh played two versions of Georgiou on the show. You had Starfleet Captain Philippa Georgiou and then you had her Mirror Universe counterpart Emperor Georgiou.

Per Deadlinethe spin-off is still in early stages but if it does get the go ahead it’ll likely focus on the mirror Georgiou and her connection to Starfleet’s Section 31 – a top-secret division introduced way back in Deep Space Nine.

Emperor Georgiou is set to appear in Discovery season two which will premiere January 17, 2019.

This is the latest talk to come out of the modern Star Trek expansion. Earlier this year, die hard fans got an absolute thrill when Sir Patrick Stewart announced he would return to his epic role of Captain Jean-Luc Picard in a series that will follow the events of Next Gen.

CBS All Access also ordered an animated comedy series called Star Trek: Lower Decks from Rick and Morty writer Mike McMahan. This is being pitched as a half-hour adult animated comedy series that will spotlight support crews on Starfleet ships no one really cares about.

Per DeadlineMcMahan literally went to the CBS heads and said: “I want to do a show about the people who put the yellow cartridge in the food replicator so a banana can come out the other end.”

Brilliant.

Most recently, we felt Yeoh intimidate the heck out of us in Crazy Rich Asians where she starred as Henry Golding‘s on-screen mother, Eleanor Young.

Speaking of which, the whole crew just copped the Breakout Ensemble Awards from the 2018 Hollywood Film Awards.
