Here’s Josh Radnor On ‘The Project’ Spruiking The Band He’s In With Ben Lee (???)

It’s been four years since we’ve heard the iconic How I Met Your Mother theme song on TV and yet tonight it made a feature on Channel 10’s The Project. Unfortunately (or not, depending on if you liked the ending) HIMYM is not making a comeback. Instead, we copped a little insight into what Ted Mosby AKA Josh Radnor’s up to these days… with BEN LEE. Our Ben Lee, the one behind Catch My Disease.

Yes, that is the most random pairing ever but wait it gets better because they’re in a two-man folk acoustic band called Radnor & Lee.

It’s brilliant and strange all at once.

(No, that’s not Ted’s doppelganger.)

Doing God’s work, Project host Carrie got to the bottom of this friendship by asking all the right questions. As it turns out the HIMYM producers had gotten in touch with Ben ‘cos they wanted to use some of his music on the show. Ben, being a human being, was a fan of HIMYM and so the producers invited him down to the set and that’s when Ted – I mean Josh met Ben. This is when it gets cute – Josh really appreciates Ben’s music so the two hit it off and have been friends ever since.

Fast-forward ten years and the two joined up to form their band… which has been around for a coupla years! Who knew?

Josh even learnt to play the guitar so the band could evolve from two-man to two-men-with-guitars. Josh says he’s not “Ben Lee good” yet but talented enough to play live gigs.

So naturally, I stalked their Youtube because I need more.

Their latest vid on Youtube is a performance of Ohio… in Ohio… in Josh’s childhood bedroom. Folks, we even cop a room tour because this isn’t surreal enough.

For their Doorstep music video, the lads crowd-sourced ideas from their fans because they weren’t too sure what to do for it. The end product is a mash-up of ideas from all around the world and it’s actually brilliant.

My heart is warmed.
