The woman who singlehandedly made incest cool again, Emilia Clarke, aka ‘Game of Thrones‘ One True Queen Daenerys Targaryen, has been living a follicle lie for the past 8 years of filming the HBO hit show, burying her naturally brunette locks under numerous, stifling wig after wig.
With ‘GoT‘ set to wrap up with the final forthcoming season, it seems Clarke has finally cracked it and decided to ditch the wig, posting to Instagram overnight that she’s come one step closer IRL to her Dragon Queen character, revealing freshly dyed blonde locks.

Whilst a solid couple of centimetres short of how Dany’s hair looked at the end of last season, meaning she might probs still have a couple of nasty ass wigs in her future, ‘GoT‘ fans are speculating hard that perhaps this indicates the Mother of Dragons may be getting a new ‘do sometime in season 8.
Some predict Dany may simply chuck a Britney Spears circa 2007 and chop off her own locks in response to a particularly emotional moment of upheaval (her new boo John Snow getting Night Kinged in the face perhaps?) whilst others point to a moment in the books that never made it to the TV show in which her fav dragon Drogon singes her hair off whilst attempting to save her from her enemies.
(Although we’ve seen Dany literally bathe in fire a bunch of times with nary a change to her noggin so that last one seems a bit bogus).
