Legendary Teen Demolishes A 71-Min Half-Marathon Wearing Crocs & Socks

Ahh, Crocs. A much-maligned footwear, disparaged by those who don’t have the good sense to recognise that the sturdy rubber-plastic construction and sleekly-designed ‘speed hole’ design actually form the world’s most aerodynamic footwear. Look upon them, ye mighty, and tremble:

Need proof? Well, while you were frothing over Nike‘s (failed) attempt to crack a two hour marathon using forbidden science, something far more miraculous occurred. A 18-year-old ran a 71-minute half-marathon while wearing Crocs. Benjamin Pachev ran 71:53 for 16th place at the 500 Festival Mini-Marathon in Indianapolis supported only by the beautiful rubber angels on his feet.
His old fella, Alexander Pachev, came in behind him at 76:07 – also wearing Crocs. Apparently, the family love Crocs because they’re cheap, durable, and don’t cause blisters. Also, the little holes aerate the feet. Seriously.
“It’s like having a little fan that’s just streaming air over your foot,” Benjamin said. We find the cheapest colours. “If they’re hot pink and that’s the cheapest colour we buy it.”
Hell yeah.
