It’s fortuitous that Alison Wonderland has chosen this week to release the video for her first single from her debut album Run, ‘U Don’t Know feat. Wayne Coyne‘. Not only does the thriller precede what are sure to be a slew of equally as thrilling live dates across North America – bookending her Coachella debut – it’s also thematically similar, in a roundabout way, to another watershed moment in pop culture coming later this week.
Directed by Prad Senanayake, starring Christopher Mintz-Plasse – FKA McLovin’ – and featuring The Flaming Lips frontman on vocals, ‘U Don’t Know’ sees Wonderland step up her game in a year that begun on a high at Falls Festival and is on a trajectory verging on near vertical.
