Chili Peppers’ Anthony Kiedes Rescued A Baby While Doing Carpool Karaoke

Red Hot Chili Peppers recently appeared on James Corden‘s Car Pool Karaoke, finding the time to indulge in a bout of wrestling and pop their collective shirts off, both of which are perfectly legitimate things for grown men to do.
In a radio appearance after the show aired, Chili Peppers front man Anthony Kiedes casually revealed that, in an unscripted moment during filming, he managed to save the life of a random baby.

The band and Corden were on their way to get some Mexican food when the segment took a turn. Per Kiedes’ story:

“A woman came out of her house holding a child, saying, ‘My baby, my baby, my baby can’t breathe’ … We all ran across the street. The lady thrust the baby into my arms. The baby was not breathing.I thought, ‘I’m going to try and do a little baby CPR real quick to see if I can get some air into this kid. I tried to open the mouth … locked shut. So I started rubbing the belly, bubbles started coming out of the mouth, the eyes rolled back into place. The ambulance showed up and I handed the baby over, who was breathing and fine.”
It’s unclear if Kiedes has formal CPR training, or if that’s just something he learned from years of going on tour. Meanwhile, in case you missed it, here’s the original segment:
