Two Teens Have Been Killed In Orlando’s Third Shooting Incident This Week

Two teens have been killed in the third shooting incident to rock the city of Orlando, Florida this week, following the murder of singer Christina Grimmie, and the tragic attack that saw 49 people gunned down at Pulse nightclub.
Reports indicate that police were called to the suburb of Pine Hills at around 10:45pm local time, and found two men aged between 16 and 18, each with gunshot wounds, in the front yard of a house.
The young men were taken to hospital, but later died from their injuries. Witnesses say that a “dark-coloured car” was observed driving away from the scene of the shooting, but there is little evidence at this point apart from that.
The Gun Violence Archive, which keeps track of firearm-related incidents in the US, says that as of June 17, there have been 24,051 such shootings so far in 2016, with 6171 killed and 12,597 injured.
The website keeps a running tally of ‘mass shootings’, classifying these as incidents in which four or more people were either injured or killed.
The week following the Pulse massacre saw five further mass shootings across the US – two in California and one each in Illinois, California and New York state – with 21 people injured and one killed.
You can see their running total of mass shootings for 2016 here, if you care to spend half your Saturday digging down deep into extremely depressing gun violence statistics.
When and how is this going to end?
