A Brooklyn Heights park dedicated to the memory of late Beastie Boys member Adam Yauch has been defaced with swastikas and pro-Donald Trump graffiti.
Yauch was Jewish, as are his surviving Beastie Boys bandmates, and the former Palmetto Playground was renamed in his honour after he died in 2012.
The attack on his memorial continues an extremely worrying trend of hate crimes across America in the wake of Trump’s election.
New York-based screenwriter Karen Wang tweeted the below photograph, saying: “Adam Yauch Park in Brooklyn Heights was left defaced with ugly symbols of hate today. This cannot be the new normal!”
