WATCH: Beastie Boy Ad-Rock Condemns Cowards’ Swastikas At Adam Yauch Park

If you missed it over the weekend, a children’s playground at Adam Yauch Park in Brooklyn Heights, New York was defaced by unidentified cowards who not only spray-painted pro-Trump slogans on play equipment, but swastikas as well.

The vandalism struck a particular nerve with local New Yorkers given that the park was named in honour of Adam “MCA” Yauch, member of the legendary Beastie Boys who sadly passed away in 2012 at the age of 47.
Yauch was a practising Buddhist of Jewish heritage who used his artistic output to calmly promote non-violence, tolerance, anti-bigotry, and equality.
On Sunday afternoon New York time, hundreds of locals of all colours and creeds gathered at the park for an anti-hate rally in the face of increased instances of hate-related incidents following Donald Trump‘s victory in the US Presidential election.
MCA’s close friend and longtime bandmate Adam “Ad-Rock” Horowitz spoke to the peaceful crowd, urging people to embrace and support important community and support organisations that will likely suffer under a Trump administration.

Among the hundreds of attendees at the rally was close pal of the Beastie Boys and fellow New Yorker Ben Stiller, who posted words of encouragement and support to social media.

No matter what bigots and hateful cowards want to do under the guise of being a Trump supporter, it’s that kind of hate that will never be allowed to win.

As Horowitz said himself, “We can’t, we won’t, and we don’t stop.
Words to live by, those.
