PSA: This Grody Scam Could See Your Hands And Feet End Up On Fetish Sites

NZ cops are warning women that if a stranger from the internet is offering to pay them huge sums of money to take pictures of their hands and feet for an “art project”, it might not be entirely above board. The scammers have been promising to pay women between NZ$2000 and NZ$9000 for the images, which seems like way more money than anyone doing art could conceivably have.
Cops said the victims got a bit suss when the requests started becoming more elaborate and weird, with one woman being told by the skeezy e-creeps that they needed her to get “supplies” such as “oil, gloves and stockings”.
Netsafe New Zealand says nearly 20 women have reported the scam so far, a number of them having been contacted through a student jobs website – because being paid a lot of dollarydoos for pics of your grabbers and steppers sound like a real legit job.
The photos in all likelihood will end up on overseas fetish websites, with one of the victims having already identified her feet on one, which must be not only be pretty harrowing but also kinda difficult?
Sean Lyons from NetSafe warned they may start at feet and hands but it could get weirder still:
“People can develop fetishes for any body part, ears, elbows, whatever. We haven’t had any reports yet but I wouldn’t be surprised if there is someone out there offering money for people to take photos of their ears, and saying it’s for ‘art’.”

He also said this isn’t limited to Kiwis, so (unless you’re a hand or foot model) be a bit wary of anyone offering you internet cash for snaps of your elbows.
