After two decades, the trailer for Danny Boyle’s Trainspotting sequel is finally here, and good Lord it keeps the original’s vibes.
All the major players from the 1996 classic – Ewan McGregor, Jonny Lee Miller, Ewen Bremner, the ever-pissed Robery Carlyle and Kelly MacDonald – are back in Edinburgh for T2: Trainspotting, set a decade after that first smacked-out masterpiece.
While the trailer is intense and disorienting (like you could expect anything else), it doesn’t quite show off all of the terrifying visuals we’ll be subjected to when the film arrives early next year.
It does offer up a whole new set of concerns for Rent Boy, though. Facebook, reality TV, extended commutes and a dire future for the youth seem to be the gang’s problems this time around.
Oh, and drugs. Drugs make an appearance, too. The film drops in Australia on February 9.
