This week, everyone celebrated the 10th anniversary of Mean Girls in their own unique way. Poor Lindsay Lohan did so by completely misunderstanding the whole damn point of the movie, while the actor who played Glen Coco revealed that he was never paid or even officially hired to appear. However, the biggest news of all came from writer and star Tina Fey, who told Vulture that she is hard at work on a stage musical version of Mean Girls.
I don’t want to get too excited this early in the game, but OH MY GOD, THE MEAN GIRLS MUSICAL IS LITERALLY GOING TO BE THE GREATEST THING EVER.
Fey said that the cast will likely be unknowns and “interesting people that no one has seen before”, which I guess is a roundabout way of saying that Lindsay Lohan will not be involved. Hopefully someone tells Lindsay the bad news soon, because I’m sure she’ll have some totally magnificent shade to throw in response.
When asked where North Shore High’s queen bee and junior sociopath Regina would be today, Fey replied that “She would be a really successful realtor,” which makes total sense when you think about it.
