LeBron James Announces He’ll Be Wearing Number 23 Once Again

After the brew-ha-ha surrounding NBA superstar LeBron James and his second dipping of toes into the rough waters of free agency, with significantly less fanfare than he left, he is returning home to the Cleveland Cavaliers for the upcoming season. Now, one more small piece of the puzzle has been revealed, that being the mostly arbitrary number that will rest below his surname.

Whilst when he left initially he not only changed team colours but number as well – running under number 6 during his time at the Miami Heat – James will be pulling on a shirt familiar to Cavs fans worldwide when he slides back in to the number 23.
23, naturally, is the number James played with all through his junior and high school years in Northeast Ohio, and was the number he wore during his first stint with the Cavaliers.
The King announced his decision on Twitter and Instagram.

Meanwhile as an apology to his neighbours on the Ohio street that he lives after his decision to return home caused havoc on the streets as fans and media alike camped out, James sent every house on the street a traditional box of apology cupcakes.

Delicious baked treats make for a real nice stop gap for between now and when he marches the Larry O’Brien trophy from Public Square, past the Hard Rock and across Ontario Street to The Q.
