Have you ever sat in your humble abode, longingly looking out of the window for some form of rousing stimulation to appear from the aether? Well, same. Fortunately for people like us who yearn for the zest of life to rain down upon us, there are people on the internet who air fry hotdogs for two hours and photograph the entire process.
Well yippee my ki-yay, I truly never expected 2021 to be so eventful, but here we are. Twitter user ‘Kendrick Lobstar’ (which I’m sure is his birth name) has posted an entire thread online documenting the process of air frying a hotdog for two hours, and the results were ghastly, to say the least.
It all started with a simple tweet. The goal. The hypothesis. The method. Science.
gonna air fry a hotdog for 120 minutes and see what happens

10 minutes in there wasn’t too much change, just the slight crisping up of your ol’ snag.

20 minutes in and the sausage splits. Now I don’t know about you, but in my experience, it’s always a surefire bad time when a sausage splits.
20 minutes had elapsed, 100 minutes remain pic.twitter.com/G7pR1JumAm

Now I want you to gaze at this next image and remember, there are 90 minutes left of the experiment.
I assure you the smell is worse than it looks pic.twitter.com/Hd38VfSmZN

40 minutes at 300° has elapsed, 80 minutes remain. Wife is increasingly displeased and reports the hotdog smell is “overwhelming” pic.twitter.com/lGFBdCCewD

50 minutes has elapsed, 70 minutes remain. My wife and son have gone outside and I have opened the kitchen window pic.twitter.com/azjDJmUz8u

At 60 minutes, what was once a sausage is no more. My guy, that looks like an ancient fossil.
I’m gonna be honest I don’t think this bad boy is gonna last another 60 minutes without catching fire
guess we’ll see pic.twitter.com/kPnG2hAvqN

Once he hits 70 minutes everything just looks cursed.
I mean, if what you are looking at disturbs you, please avert your eyes.
out of precaution I have obtained a bottle of FIRE GONE pic.twitter.com/vmERiLaovz

10 minutes remain, and it appears the hotdog has entered its final form, I wonder if it is still delicious pic.twitter.com/0dTVODI2GR

And now for the big reveal. The part you’ve all been waiting for. What on Earth does the sausage look after it’s been subject to the air fryer for far too long?
looks like shit pic.twitter.com/2DFA9b5UQb

The worst part is, after this lengthy experiment, he tasted his creation. He put the godawful creation into his mouth.
it tastes terrible, it’s not even remotely a hotdog anymore, it’s just carbon in the shape of a dick

And yet somehow, through all of this, the worst part is when he tried to rehydrate the damn thing.
18 hours of rehydrating and somehow it looks worse pic.twitter.com/1fldjc1t4W
