Qantas Offers Refunds To Passengers Caught Up In Fkd US Travel Ban

Qantas has assured passengers affected by the United States’ new ban on migrants from seven majority-Muslim nations that they will be entitled to refunds, or new tickets with alternate destinations.

After President Donald Trump’s executive order barred citizens of Iraq, Iran, Syria, Yemen, Sudan, Libya and Somalia from entering the United States for at least the next 90 days, Qantas said “a number of options” are available to impacted travelers.

The move mirrors those made by airlines such as American-based Delta, which is also looking to contact anyone suddenly frozen out of the nation by Trump’s frankly horrifying new order.
While Qantas says the ban is “is not likely to materially impact [its] passengers,”  the ruling effectively means more than 130 million people are now unable to enter The States – including permanent residents who are currently outside of the nation’s borders.

Already, the impact of the ban is being felt:

It may just take more than concessions from the world’s airlines to fix this gigantic diplomatic clusterfuck.
