Okay, there’s a few things to remember here:
1. We weren’t on the plane.
2. We don’t know the full story.
3. We’ve only gotten a short statement from the airline.
But if everything reported on BGN News is correct, then an airline LITERALLY kicked a passenger off their flight because she, an economy-class lesser citizen, deigned to use the business class bathroom in the event of a chunder emergency.
Slovakian woman Edita Kmetova, 50, was flying with Air Berlin from Vienna to Abu Dhabi to visit her daughter late last week, when mid-way through the flight we was overcome with nausea. Fearing she wouldn’t make it to the economy toilets on the back of the plane, she did what any sensible person wanted to spare their neighbours from that nasty vom smell, and bolted to the nearby business class ones.
Those snooty bitches in business classes were all like:
And so when Kmetova came out of the bathroom, she was met by angry passengers, the crew, and one of the pilots, and after an argument, was LITERALLY put in handcuffs.
And then – AND THEN – They made an EMERGENCY LANDING. IN TURKEY. TO BOOT HER OFF THE PLANE.
“They abandoned me in Erzurum (Turkey), a place I could not even find on a map if I tried,” Kmetova told BGN News. “I was left all alone. At that point, I broke down into tears.”
“At that point, the Erzurum Airport administrator on duty Abubekir Özcan calmed me down and offered me tea. He processed my tickets and arranged a stay at a hotel in Palandöken. I’ll never forget such an act of kindness.”
Özcan says that when he realised what had happened, he asked the pilot if they couldn’t let her back on the flight. “We were unable to convince him,” he said, and the plane flew the fuck off
On the other end of all this is Air Berlin, who are 100% standing by their actions. A spokesperson for the airline said Kmetova was “disruptive“, and that “the crew did everything possible to calm the guest and ensure the safety on board.”
