For those that feel virtual reality (VR) is just another bloody gimmick, it’s looking increasingly likely that you are wrong.
Making pretty obvious waves in the gaming world, other industries have already started jumping on the bandwagon, such as retail and porn. So really, it was only a matter of time before people started making regular films in a virtual world.
If you wanna get in on the hype, you can suss 15 short VR films as part of the Melbourne Fringe Festival over 3 weeks.
Experience a ride on a scary af ghost train in A Southern Dark Ride, or get close to some street art in the short doco Adnate (Street Artist).
If something a little interactive is more your speed, why not try the sensual, I Want To Be Intimate Again.
“After learning how to love themselves, they are ready to love someone else again. They are intimate and aware of themselves, and now they want to be intimate with you.”
Starting on September the 14th, the festival will hold synchronised VR screenings in Collingwood for up to 12 participants per session.
Tickets are 14 dollarydoos and available through the Melbourne Fringe Festival website.
