Foxtel‘s endless quest to get the entire internet banned continues to march its way through the courts of Australia, with the subscription TV megalith now setting its sights on a new crop of online services following on from last year’s great Pirate Bay purge.
An application lodged by Foxtel is seeking an injunction that will effectively “block” 17 listed services from Australian internet, under our nation’s anti-piracy laws.
If successful, the injunction will require Australia’s major ISPs, including Optus, Telstra, TPG, Vocus and their subsidiaries like iiNet or Internode, to place the 127 URLs representing 17 online services on a block list, similar to what occurred with The Pirate Bay, isohunt, Torrentz, and TorrentHound last December.
The full list of sites facing the chop from Australian internet reads a little like this:

- Putlocker
- Watch Series 1
- Watch Series 2
- Project Free TV 1
- Project Free TV 2
- Watch Episodes
- Watch Episode Series
- Watch TV Series
- The Dare Telly

- Putlocker9.to
- Torlock
- 1337x.
The application includes multiple URL listings for each site, meaning a change in suffix will still be caught by the block list.
A court date of August 8th has been set for the application to be heard, and if it’s successful ISPs will have 15 days to comply.
‘Course if the bans are anything like the ones put on The Pirate Bay et al, then circumventing them would be a remarkably easy feat that we absolutely do not (do) condone in any way, shape, or form.
But that’s another story for another day.
