We Now Know Where The Next ‘Battlefield’ Game Is Set & Have A Bloody Guess

After previously announcing that the next entry into the Battlefield series will be playable at this year’s EA Play event in June, we now have some more details on the upcoming title, including its name and setting.

The next game will be called Battlefield V, and like last year’s Call of Duty, it will head back to the trenches of World War II. It’s the same place the Battlefield franchise started, and where it will be returning for the first time since 2009’s Battlefield 1943.

The information, along with a screenshot of its home screen, was leaked to GameBeat by anonymous sources. They also said the game was known internally as Battlefield 2 for some time during its development.

Earlier rumours suggested the game would be a new entry into the Bad Company series set in Vietnam, but now we know that was obviously bullshit.

EA and game developers, DICE, have allegedly been planning a move back the second world war for some time, but didn’t wanna make the move too early, which is why the decided on Battlefield 1‘s WWI setting.

That’s all the information getting around at the moment, but we’ll probably hear more about it in the lead up to E3 in June, if not at the event itself. The game will be out at some point during the second half of this year.
