First-Person Puzzle Masterpiece ‘The Witness’ Is Free Right Now

If you’re into puzzle games of any kind, The Witness is an absolute must-play, and if you haven’t already given it a spin, you can own it right now for exactly zero dollars, which is the best price.

Set in a first-person perspective, the game takes place on an island full of puzzles, some of which will have you pulling out your fucking hair, but always manage to give you a sense of progression. Beyond gameplay, The Witness is visually stunning, which helps when you need a minute to walk away from a particularly frustrating puzzle.

As you can probably tell, each location has it’s own theme and puzzle type. After you complete a section, it shoots a big laser thing to the top of a mountain where you’ll go after completing all of them.

The game was released back in 2016 to critical acclaim and is sitting at around 87 per cent on Metacritic. Jonathan Blow, the guy behind Braid, worked as the lead designer on the project.
