Since the new Star Wars: The Last Jedi trailer dropped yesterday, the world’s gone crazy for the franchise once again. And why wouldn’t they? It looks fucking sick.
With every new film comes a bunch of new products that jump on the hype bandwagon, the latest being Samsung‘s Darth Vader-themed Powerbot vacuum cleaner. In other words, it’s a Roomba that looks like the Star Wars villain.
But it’s not just the aesthetic you’ll get, the unit even makes Vader’s signature breathing noise when you turn it on. I don’t know about you, but that’s something I’m looking for in a robot vacuum cleaner. If white’s more your jam, the bot also comes in a Stormtrooper design that yells “let’s go!” when it gets to work. Amazing.
Each of the bots are equipped with nine smart sensors it uses to map out all of the rooms in your house, as well as avoid obstacles that get in their way during cleaning. Samsung also have a smartphone app that’ll let you control the units.
I want both of them and i want them to fight each other. I know they’re on the same team and frankly, I don’t give a shit. I will fight the vacuum robots just like the hit TV show, Robot Wars.
Now for the colossal bummer – they’re only on sale in the US for now, but fingers crossed they allow for shipping to Australia at some point. Both are available for preorder now, but ship on November 5. The Stormtrooper unit is selling for $US699 ($897) and the Vader one for $US799 ($1,025), which includes Wi-Fi.
