If Purgatory is the perpetual traffic of Sydney‘s M5 motorway, then Hell is most certainly the never ending search for a parking space anywhere in or around the CBD.

But your favourite tech lords, Google, might just have a solution to your woes. In a current Android beta version of Google Maps, they’ve included a feature that will not only guide you to your destination, it will find you the best places to park in the area.
When you search for a destination, a small ‘P’ will appear at the bottom along with the probability of you finding a spot as either easy, medium or limited.
And look, it’s definitely not going to guide you to a singular open spot, as it likely relies solely on traffic data to give you an idea of how congested the general area is and the best places to try. Regardless, it’s a pretty bloody handy feature to have.
Granted many multi-story parking lots now have sensors that pick up on full or empty spots, it could come down to a simple integration that allows Google to take you straight to a free spot. You BEAUTY.
Until then, this will make your parking life feel just a little bit less like Satan‘s toilet.
