Remember the NBN rollout address checker? I do. I remember typing in my address and being told that it was planned, but failed to provide even a ballpark timeframe on when it’ll be available to me.
Well, I have some good news and I have some bad news. The good news is they’ve updated the website to give a more accurate estimate on when you’ll be able to hook up the NBN to your home, as well as the type of connection available.
The bad news? A lot of you aren’t very happy about it.

Yeah, there’s some long waits going around. Luckily, I’ll have it by October according to this. It’s not ideal, but I’ll take it.
And rather than simply telling users when the NBN infrastructure will be built in their area, the site now gives an indication as to when they’ll be able to contact a retailer to have it connected. They’ll continue to update these dates as well.
“As the nature of the rollout requires a certain level of flexibility, nbn will continue to refresh the website to reflect any changes with the rollout,” said their statement.
