Good news, cricket fans, a brand new game from Aussie games studio, Big Ant, is coming to PC and consoles. Unlike its past cricket games, this one is all about that Big Bash insanity.

Announced today, Big Bash Boom will be more of an arcadey take on the sport, featuring players with giant heads, dancing ducks, and powerup abilities like turning your opponent’s bat into something as small as a stump. Wild stuff.
“It’s certainly different to Big Ant’s previous offerings, which have been more on the side of simulation rather than sheer Big Bash action.” Cricket Australia’s head of Big Bash, Kim McConnie, said in a release. “Big Ant Studios really understands cricket and what it is that excites so many people about our sport.”
“With the Big Bash now Australia’s biggest cricketing competition, we wanted to work together to create an accessible game for fans of all ages that reflects what people love about the BBL.”
Big Bash Boom will feature all the current BBL teams, as well as all the current women’s BBL teams, complete with their mascots. You’ll also be able to “earn additional hilarious” for your team. Furthermore, the release weirdly asks if you’ve “ever wanted to know what it’s like to play cricket with a potato as the ball?” So make of that what you will.
“We wanted to do something different with Big Bash Boom.” Big Ant CEO, Ross Symons, said. “Just as the BBL itself has grown to become Australia’s favourite family summer event, this is a game the whole family can jump into and have a great time with.”
In other words, expect shit to get pretty weird. You can check out the short teaser trailer below.
You can pick up Big Bash Boom on November 29 for PC, PS4, Xbox One and Switch.
