The PR kids over at Camp Donald Trump have apparently awoken from whatever deep dark sleep they’ve been in for the entirety of this election campaign, and they’ve taken away the one thing of importance to the Republican nominee: his Twitter account.
News has rocketed around the political arena, but the country’s head honcho himself has taken particular notice. Barack Obama took a moment to gloat during a pre-election event in Florida, revealing the news to an ever-willing crowd of Democratic supporters whose chortles rang through the room like the laugh track to a classic 90s sitcom.
Sure, Obama barely contained a giggle, but he also hammered home some blatantly obvious #realtalk by saying “if somebody can’t handle a Twitter account, they can’t handle the nuclear codes.”
The metaphorical mic drops continued when Obama further commented on the trigger-happy nature of the candidate and what Trump’s election might, I dunno, mean for the fate of the free world as we know it. “If somebody starts tweeting at three in the morning because SNL made fun of you, you can’t handle the nuclear codes,” he said.

This leaves us wondering who, or more accurately what, will keep the Republican candidate up at night. Twitter was the one place where he felt safe, secure, and it was always there when he needed it the most.
In any case, the rants seem to be over. His 140 characters will likely be replaced with informative bursts of tailored text… Which honestly could still be pretty damaging to his campaign.
