Watch MBFWA Shows Live In An Australian Fashion Week First

Just like its international counterparts around the world, Australian Fashion Week isn’t exactly the most inclusive event on the cultural almanac, and that’s completely understandable. With a focus on maximising business opportunities for local designers, the guestlist is strictly ‘industry’, comprising local and international buyers – a crucial opportunity for any brand’s hoping to stay in the money (duh) – as well as fashion media and bloggers from around the world, meaning sartorially-cognisant punters aren’t given a look-in at invitation time. This year that’s going to change, however, with the announcement that next week’s Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Australia (MBFWA) will be live streamed through the ether to your computer monitor in an Australian Fashion Week first.

MBFWA presenting partner, IMG, has teamed up with the fantastic locally run online retailer, JASU.com, who will be broadcasting – LIVE! – every designer show held at Fashion Week’s heritage-listed new venue Carriageworks. Via JASU the shows will be streamed live to your computer, mobile or tablet device, and to Martin Place in Sydney’s CBD where the action will be beamed onto a purpose-built screen.

MBFWA runs April 8-12 so go peruse the full schedule here to know when to tune in. And don’t forget that if you’re dipping into the office bandwidth supply without permission for viewing do choose an appropriately stealthy position or just in case.

Next week we see The Fashion!
