If you enjoy Baz Luhrmann and Catherine Martin’s personal brand of meticulously crafted fantasy with flawless production values, a great soundtrack and a totally nonsensical narrative, then you’ll ~literally~ love their latest joint filmic venture for the house of Chanel’s signature scent, starring the Brazilian with the most bang and buck alike, Gisele Bündchen.
Game of Thrones’ Dario Naharis also stars as Bündchen’s – something. Lover? Angst ridden ex-paramour? Baby Daddy? It’s not clear – let’s say platonic male friend with a side of tongue kissing.
Basically, she’s super blessed and Has It All like the modern Chanel woman she typifies. He’s wearing a powder blue suit and leaving lyrics from the Grease OST around her CGI house, then he’s like, ‘SMFH, I can’t drive a stick’. That’s when her acting descends into laughable territory. Then Baz is there too, of course, and all of a sudden she’s like ‘bye, Haters’ while stealing a $30,000+ haute couture dress by running off set without changing. Pretty whimsical, very unprofessional.
