Topshop Fans Wag School To Line Up For Fast Fashion

Pedestrian’s Melbourne correspondents, Alice and Sam, ventured to Australia’s very first Topshop flagship store which opens to the public today. Intense levels of retail enthusiasm was predicted for the opening day, and sure enough crowds of shoppers had gathered outside as early as 6am to take advantage of Topshop’s seductive incentive: a $100 voucher for the first 20 shoppers through the door.

According to Alice “Two girls had been waiting since yesterday lunch time but about ten people down the line had been there from 6am. We busted a bunch of girls wagging school (in uniform, amateurs) and there were only about four boys in the whole line.”

“First through the doors to pillage this morning were two girls who had been waiting since midday yesterday, heading up a ’round the block line. The nearby Elwood store played Santa, handing out free headphones and Topshop kept the 200 plus crowd in fine shopping form with water and frozen yogurt.”

The opening weekend will have Dj’s, styling sessions, a photobooth and $100 vouchers being given every hour, on the hour.
