Tavi Gevinson Will Make You Feel Old And Inadequate At The Sydney Opera House

Tavi Gevinson is a writer, editor and full-time Millennial jealousy magnet who at just 17 years of age has steered away from the frivolous nature of the fashion blogging game she took over as a 13 year old, penned articles for NPR Books, Vogue UK, and The Believer and launched her own influential pop culture publication Rookie Magazine where she has solicited editorial contributions from Lena Dunham, Zooey Deschanel, Thom Yorke, Joss Whedon, Malcolm Gladwell, and Sarah Silverman.

Now the Chicago-born teen prodigy and lover of hats has taken time away from her day job of shaping the way teenage girls feel about themselves to remind people born before the 90s how they never did any of that in her debut Australian speaking engagements at the Sydney Opera House and the Melbourne Writer’s Festival. Prepare to feel old and inadequate.

Per the press release the one not-a-girl-not-yet-a-woman media empire will “prove that youth are capable of running the joint, that fashion and feminism can indeed be BFFs, and that it’s okay to figure things out as you go.”

Get a taste of what to expect with her TEDxTeen talk from last year.
