New York Fashion Week is all about the fashion fashion fashion. JK! – It’s partly about the fashion but it’s also about looking at celebrities and seeing where the land on the sartorial hierarchy according to which shows they attend and which seats they’re allocated. Here is a run down of celebrities in attendance at NYFW Spring 2013.

DIESEL BLACK GOLD Look at Adrien Brody with the suit and that facial hair and the chest hair and the bemused eyebrow-raising that he’s got going on. But does he look like the sexiest man in town or the biggest creep on earth? Frankly I’m torn.

EDUN 40% of The Strokes, Fab Moretti and Albert Hammond Jr turned up at the slouchy, utilitarian Edun show. The clothes are for ladies only but that certainly doesn’t mean the dudes can’t have a look. It’s great to see that more than a decade after their first album came out, the Strokes have exactly the same style. Consistency is comforting. And, in this case, sexual.
Also at Edun was Alicia Keys. While two-tone leggings should really be left to frightening harlequin clown dolls, Alicia Keys is killing me right now with her chic, well pulled together style, and she somehow makes the leggings look acceptable. (Speaking of harlequin clown dolls, do note the shoes on the gal to Alicia’s right hand side. Hm.)

MARC JACOBS Predictably a barrel full of it girls were front row at the retro chictastic Marc Jacobs show. Yes – chictastic. Let’s look at them.
Adorable teenage actress Hailee Steinfeld had the unfortunate honour of sitting beside beautiful leopard-coated waif Alexa Chung, thereby rendering her normally cute multi-print dress into a tartan taffeta joke.
Bridesmaids buddies Rose Byrne and Kristen Wiig were there too. I love Kristen Wiig so much, which is why it pains me greatly to point out how fucking horrendous her accordian pleated white shorts are. Why.

PROENZA SCHOULER A slightly stoned-looking Alexa Chung was back on deck for the phenomenal Proenza show. Also in the house was the gorgeous Jessica Chastain managing to make even black leather look sweet as pie, as well as a classically elegant Kirsten Dunst in shirt, skinny jeans and dove grey clutch she should really lose… so that I can find it.
