Sass & Bide Expand to the UK, Diss Aussies?

Aussie label Sass & Bide has confirmed it will open its first London store. Designers Heidi Middleton and Sarah-Jane Clarke have recently been targeting the UK as a key market, believing that their aesthetic aligns more with Britain than it does Australia or the US, (sounds to me like an indirect insult).

“There is such a strong creative energy and sense of freedom in London that you don’t find in Sydney or New York. We’re very excited to be coming,” they told Vogue.

“Our CEO is due to come out to London with us in September and we’ll discuss a site then. At the moment we’re looking at Dover St but nothings confirmed yet. Hopefully if we talk about it enough it’ll happen sooner.”

Since starting out in the late nineties Sass & Bide has experienced ongoing success within the fashion market both here and abroad – with a few high-profile cats offering their invaluable endorsement:

Speaking of Aussie fashion abroad, Camilla Franks of Sydney label Camilla has received a rather notable mention by Rachel Zoe on her website . Supposedly the designer, who is known for her overflowing printed kaftans is one of Zoe’s “most cherished worldy designers”. Jaysus.

Lily Allen wore a Camilla jumpsuit and cape to Sydney Big Day Out which allowed for some killer up-skirt viewing.
