Romance Was Born Pre-MBFWA 2013 Questionnaire

Cate Blanchett loves them, Jenny Kee is a loyal supporter and collaborator, and there’s documented evidence that Nicki Minaj is a dedicated apostle. The fans of Sydney label, Romance Was Born, provide an idyllic snapshot of what the clothes are all about: artful, irreverent fun, with colours so vivid you can practically taste ’em.

Designers Anna Plunkett and Luke Sales have been extremely hush-hush about what they’ve planned for their always anticipated, typically spectacular runway show at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Australia this year, but we’ve jumped on a few vague clues that – after a hugely, almost surprisingly, wearable 2012 showcase – Plunkett and Sales have conjured up a return to the idiosyncratic escapism and one-of-a-kind decadence of their 2009 debut “Dollies and Pearls, Oysters and Shells” and 2010’s “Renaissance Dinosaur“.

The selfie-shy design duo gave us a cryptic insight into what’s in store for their MBFWA presentation on Monday…
